UC-HBCU Initiative Call and Faculty Forum

Dear Colleagues,

A forum to provide application guidance and tips on the University of California-Historically Black Colleges and Universities (UC-HBCU) Initiative has been rescheduled to 3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Humanities Instructional Building 137. RSVP using the link HERE.

Faculty and staff who are interested to submit applications by the March 15 deadline for the 2017 system-wide competition are invited to attend this free event. Light refreshments will be served. A Faculty Applicant Webinar that provides key program is available here.

This informal forum will be conversational to address questions and to provide insights from Principal Investigators and designates from current and previously funded projects.

The UC-HBCU Initiative, designed to increase the participation of graduates from HBCUs in the wide array of distinguished doctoral and MFA programs throughout the UC system, is now in its seventh year. Faculty and staff representatives provide critical support to guide student preparation through Summer Research Internship Support Grants and Summer Research and Graduate Admission Pathways Grants. Principal Investigators for funded projects can receive 1/9 summer salary support.

Please visit the ADVANCE website or contact the Office of Inclusive Excellence advancedirector@uci.edu.

We look forward to seeing you at the UC-HBCU Forum on February 15.

Expect Equity, Support Diversity and Practice Inclusion,

Douglas M. Haynes
