Islamophobia – Addressing Stereotypes

Dear Campus Community,

The Office of Inclusive Excellence is launching a new YouTube Channel entitled Spotlight Series. The purpose of this series is to explore and raise awareness about issues that affect our campus and wider society, including anti-Semitism, gender equity, free speech, and immigration among others.

The topic of the first installment is Islamophobia or fear of Islam and Muslim people. I explore this topic with UCI student Aya Hallak, an international studies major and participant in the Olive Tree Initiative.
