June 15

Text: Are you a person with a disability at UCI? Should UCI create a Disability Cultural Center? Make your voice heard! Take our 15-question survey. One is wearing a purple Hijab while using crutches to help walk and the other holds a megaphone and a small bag for medicine.

Should @UCIrvine create a Disability Cultural Center? If you are a student, staff, or faculty member with a #disability, we want to hear from you! $5 Starbucks gift card to the first 50 and last 50 people to take our 15-question survey: https://tinyurl.com/DCC-UCIsurvey

A task force comprising volunteer students, staff, and faculty at UCI is seeking input from students with disabilities to inform the potential development of a Disability Cultural Center on campus.

UCI already has a Disability Service Center (DSC), which is focused on providing accommodations and maintaining compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). In contrast, a Disability Cultural Center would aim to create opportunities for students to connect with other students, staff, and faculty with disabilities and share their experiences, share their identit(ies), and organize as a community.

The first 50 and last 50 respondents will be eligible for a $5 Starbucks gift card. Your response will be used by the task force to provide a written report to UCI about if and how a Disability Cultural Center should be created. You may choose to be an anonymous or unnamed contributor to the report, or you may choose not to have your response included in the report at all.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the chair of the task force, Stacy Branham <sbranham@uci.edu>, or any of our student listening campaign chairs:
