Amplify Womxn of UCI:

Hearing Our Stories

COMING SOON!

A&PW of UCI is proud to announce a new video series focused on raising the voices of womxn across UCI: Amplify Womxn of UCI: Hearing Our Stories.

This initiative aims to aid in the eradication of anti-Black and anti-inclusive mindsets through 5-minute mini interviews in which our guests (UCI staff, faculty, and retirees) will share their personal experiences with discrimination and/or profiling based on race, gender, disability, and/or other pieces of their identity.

INCEPTION
The Amplify series was inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement. Erica Turley-De Villa and Tanya Zabalegui, two of our board members for A&PW envisioned a form of storytelling that would provide a space for womxn of UCI to be heard. As Erica and Tanya began sharing their idea with individuals across campus, they garnered a great deal of support very quickly. There are well over 10+ departments throughout campus that are either collaborating, supporting, or consulting on this initiative, and we are so grateful.

GETTING STARTED
There are three videos already in progress and we are so excited to get to share them with you in the coming month! Here are some behind-the-scenes shots of Erica filming the introduction video for the series:
