Join the Academic Senate for a lively discussion on Academic Freedom with Howard Gillman, UCI Chancellor, co-author of Free Speech on Campus, and Song Richardson, Dean, UCI Law School.

Howard Gillman
Chancellor Gillman is an award-winning scholar and teacher with expertise in the American Constitution and the Supreme Court. He holds appointments in Law, Political Science, Criminology and History. He also provides administrative oversight and serves as co-chair of the advisory board of the University of California’s National Center for Free Speech and Civic Engagement.

 

Song Richardson
Dean Richardson is a distinguished legal scholar in the areas of criminal law, criminal procedure, and law and social science and the recipient of numerous awards. She is the co-editor of The Constitution and the Future of Criminal Justice in America (Cambridge University Press, 2013). Her article “Police Efficiency and the Fourth Amendment” was selected as a “must read” by the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
