Join us for a conversation
about voice and Black creativity
The #UCI1619Project continues through a conversation with Taylor Shaw (writer, producer, and founder of Black Women Animate) and Jon Key (illustrator, designer, and fine artist whose work appears in The 1619 Project).
Black Women Animate is dedicated to cultivating talented women of color and other underrepresented people in the entertainment industry.
Key works across different media to address themes including Southernness, Blackness, Queerness, and Family.
Shaw and Key will introduce us to the work they do followed by a lively conversation about passion, identity, and experience in creative industries.
We welcome questions from the audience and will provide a syllabus of resources related to the event.
