The AAPI Womxn in Leadership would like to invite you to a viewing and discussion of PBS’ Asian Americans “Good Americans” episode on Tuesday, May 11th (12:00pm – 1:30pm PST). This event is designed as a community space to share reactions and dive into themes that will expand our conversation and thinking. It is not intended to be an academic discussion. Though this event is hosted by the AAPI Womxn in Leadership Initiative, all are welcome.

More about Good Americans
During the Cold War years, Asian Americans are simultaneously heralded as a Model Minority and targeted as the perpetual foreigner. It is also a time of bold ambition, as Asian Americans aspire for the first time to national political office and a coming culture-quake simmers beneath the surface.

Schedule:

  • 12:00pm – 1:00pm – We will watch the Good Americans episode together. If you would like to watch the episode ahead of time and join for the discussion later, please click here to watch the episode: https://www.pbs.org/video/good-americans-dyei9i/
  • 1:00pm – 1:30pm – Group Discussion
