This conference brings together scholars in the Humanities and Social Sciences working at the intersection of Mining, the History of Science and Technology, and Environmental Studies in the Americas from the early Modern period to today.

The Latin American Studies Center promotes research and dialogue about Latin American history, society, arts and culture across the UCI campus. The center also engages the Orange County community through public programs and film screenings.
