This is the final program of a three-part series, sponsored by Calit2 and UCI ADVANCE, designed for students interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.) The event will include a panel discussion featuring individuals with successful STEM careers. This is a unique opportunity for students to hear about the triumphs and challenges experienced by women and underrepresented groups working in STEM today.

SPEAKERS:

 
Victor Liu

UC Irvine alumni Victor Liu and Adam Bonner founded Web Advanced, a full service IT and business consulting agency based in Irvine,in 2000. Liu and Bonner gained extensive experience in designing and developing information systems and technologies while at UCI, and in working for a variety of top-level IT firms such as Microsoft, Accenture and FileNet. The two friends decided to become business partners after discovering that their shared professional interests in web design and custom software development extended to a wider range of business services including marketing and strategic business consulting.

David Ochi

Ochi is an experienced entrepreneur with more than 20 years of start-up experience. He is particularly interested in projects that involve overseas components and strategic management needs. He is leading the implementation of the Blackstone LaunchPad program at UC Irvine as part of the newly established ANTrepreneur Center designed to help student entrepreneurs succeed in their ventures both during and after their experience on campus.

Suzanne Best Foster

Foster was former VP Global IT Services of Broadcom. In her two years with Broadcom she delivered millions in savings year over year through efficiencies, delivery on new and better business focused solutions and managing projects in alignment with cost effective strategies. Fpster also has proven experience bringing constructive and positive change to organizations in order to meet (and exceed) their goals in measurable ways. Foster is passionate about moving organizations, goals and people to create and deliver more value. Her experience is in large, global, Fortune 300 companies, and she has expertise in every area of IT and building high performing teams.

Esosa Agbonwaneten

CEO & Founder of Bulletin LLC, Agbonwaneten is a former UCI student and the CEO and Founder of Bulletin LLC. Bulletin is a website that combines the utilities of Facebook and Google documents. The importance of Bulletin is that it combines the usefulness of each site in one platform that makes it easy for students to communicate and transfer information. Currently, developers are working on the website and a phone app that will allow different modes of access. This website is exclusive to college students who have busy schedules and wish to keep their schoolwork organized in one space.

Kelsey Fung

Fung is CEO and cofounder of Au Solutions (biotech). She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from UC Irvine. The goal of Au Solutions is to create products that challenge the standard of care for patients suffering from chest trauma. The company strives to create a new gold standard in trauma medicine.

Mark Carolino

Carolino is a career counselor at UCI Career Center. He has a degree in Mass Communications from UC Berkeley. Upon graduation he worked at the UC Office of the President, and after conversations with mentors he decided to pursue a Master’s degree in Higher Education at New York University. Carolino spent two years as a career counselor at NYU and is excited to work with students at UCI. He is the liaison for the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences.
