The Truth About Crime: A Panel Discussion
In their new book, The Truth About Crime: Sovereignty, Knowledge, Social Order, Jean and John Comaroff argue that we understand ourselves in the modern era not by our arts, our politics, or our science, but rather by our crimes. Examining recent transformations in the triangulation of capital, the state, and governance that have led to an era where crime and policing are ever more complicit, they reflect powerfully on the new forms of sovereignty, citizenship, class, race, law, and the political economy of representation.
