UC-HBCU Initiative Faculty Q&A

Faculty interested in the University of California-Historically Black Colleges and Universities (UC-HBCU) Initiative are invited to a Zoom video/phone conference Q&A presented by Professor and OIE Interim Associate Director, Sharon Block and Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Douglas M. Haynes.

The UC-HBCU Initiative aims to increase the enrollment of alumni from HBCUs in UC graduate programs. UC Academic Senate faculty in any discipline at any of the ten UC campuses may apply to serve as the one Principal Investigator for a Summer Research Internship Support Grant, a one-year grant to host students in summer 2022, a Summer Research and Graduate Admission Pathways Grant, providing three-year funding to host students in the summers of 2022, 2023, and 2024, or a Small Research Grant for one year. NOTE: PIs for Small Research Grants ARE NOT ELIGIBLE for summer salary support and grant projects are not required to have summer research experiences for students or an HBCU partner.

Online application deadline for UC-HBCU Initiative submission is 12:00 p.m. Pacific on Monday, March 15, 2022, at ProposalCentral.
