The Office of Faculty Development and Diversity in the UCI School of Social Sciences presents Ready to Vote? An Interactive Play featuring the Pacific Teatro Theatre in a simulation of a faculty merit-promotion review in an academic department Nov 6 | 3:00-5:00 p.m. UCI Student Center, Pacific Ballrooms A, B, C   RSVP   link: https://forms.gle/CraCXs34xEub1kV38         The Pacific Teatro Theatre presents a simulation of a faculty merit-promotion review in an academic department. The production emphasizes the ways in which racial-ethnic and gender biases impact the decision-making process. The play is followed by an interactive session with the audience. The characters are asked questions (the actors stay in character) as a mode of discussion, culminating with an improvisation in which the cast replays various problematic moments from the play using audience suggestions about how to interrupt the toxic interactions observed in the original version.       Co-sponsored by the School of Social Ecology, School of the Arts, School of Physical Sciences, School of Humanities, School of Education, and Office of Inclusive Excellence.
