Accountability Resources
A dedicated team of faculty Equity Advisors and graduate program DECADE mentors carry out this mission in the general campus schools. This distinctive model of peer to peer collaboration is designed to advance excellence through an intentional commitment to equity and diversity in three areas critical for the success of current faculty and professoriate of the future. These are: recruitment and admissions, advancement and degree completion, and an affirmative climate for all faculty and graduate students.
Affirmative Action Programs
Per the University of California's Principles of Community, the Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity provides links to report acts of intolerance, overviews of policies, and best practice guides for diverse faculty recruitment and retention.
Dependent Care Travel Awards
Provides up to $1,000 to qualifying senate members (who are parents of a child age 6 years or younger at the time of application) to subsidize childcare costs associated with travel to a professional conference or research meeting. Apply here.
Faculty Success Program
Career Development Awards are provided by the Office of Inclusive Excellence to support participation in the nationally-recognized Faculty Success Program. Apply here.
New Faculty Orientations and Workshops
Ongoing workshops are sponsored by Academic Personnel to cover key information and topics about emergency preparedness, grant seeking, UCI promotion and review process, among others. Check events and resources here.
Office of Inclusive Excellence Equity Advisors and DECADE Mentors
Equity Advisors – providing each unit with selection committee guidance, counsel to incoming and continuing faculty on faculty salary equity, recruitment and advancement.
DECADE Mentors – providing each doctoral program with graduate admissions committee guidance and counsel to incoming and continuing graduate students regarding recruitment and success.
