Mawlid al-Nabi observes the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad, who was born in Mecca in 570 CE, and whose revelations from God established the Islamic faith. Mawlid al-Nabi is often celebrated with festivals, prayer services, recitations, poetry, and songs.
