Postdoctoral Fellowship Programs
UC and UCI offer multiple postdoctoral fellowships aimed at outstanding scholars who undertake research and creative activities related to inclusive excellence, diversity, and equal opportunity at the University of California. All of these postdoctoral fellows are eligible for the UC Hiring Incentive.
President’s Postdoctoral Fellowship Program (PPFP)
The University of California President’s Postdoctoral Fellowship Program (PPFP) was established by the University of California's Office of the President in 1984 to encourage minoritized Ph.D. recipients to pursue academic careers at the University of California. Today, the program is one of the most competitive postdoctoral awards in the country and offers up to two years of postdoctoral research fellowships, professional development, and faculty mentoring to outstanding scholars.
The UCI Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Fellowship Program (CPFP)
The UCI Chancellor's Postdoctoral Fellowship Program (CPFP) awards up to two years of postdoctoral research fellowships to top applicants who could not be funded through the PPFP. Finalists to the PPFP are automatically considered for a CPFP award.
Several departments at UCI have also funded their own Chancellor's Postdoctoral Fellowships.
- Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Fellowship in Criminology, Law and Society
- Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Fellowship in Psychological Science
All Chancellor’s departmental fellowships are selected from applicants to the UC President’s Postdoctoral Fellowship Program.
For questions about Chancellor's fellowships, contact the appropriate department or Associate Vice Chancellor Sharon Block (sblock@uci.edu).
