Join us for a lively conversation, moderated by Vicki Ruiz, Distinguished Professor Emerita of history and Chicano & Latino Studies at UCI and recipient of the National Humanities Medal from President Obama, and featuring women in political leadership. The featured speakers include Melissa Ramoso, Filipina American UCI alumna elected as the only female City Council Member in Artesia, California in 2018 and Southern Chair of the Asian Pacific Islander Caucus for the California Democratic party, and Susan Masten, Vice-Chair of the Yurok Tribe, past President of the National Congress of American Indians, and Founder of Women Empowering Women for Indigenous Nations.
