UCI Great Big Read: Famed Author Nnedi Okorafor Presents on July 9 ♥

World-renowned science fiction author Nnedi Okorafor presents as part of a virtual UCI Great Big Read event at noon on Thursday, July 9.
A distinguished author, she is recipient of the Hugo, Nebula, World Fantasy, Locus and Lodestar Awards and her debut novel, Zahrah the Windseeker, won the prestigious Wole Soyinka Prize for Literature. Her comics for Marvel include Black Panther: Long Live the King, and Wakanda Forever, both enjoyed worldwide. She joins the UCI Great Big Read to discuss themes from Octavia Butler’s Kindred and her co-written adaptation of Butler’s Wild Seed, as well as her masterful and stirring works that include the Binti trilogy, and Who Fears Death (developed as an HBO series).
The forum is facilitated by Professor John Murillo III from the Department of African American Studies and includes a Q&A with the author.
