UCI Mentoring Awards
Congratulations 2022 Mentoring Awardees
A variety of UCI-wide students, staff and faculty were recognized for their mentoring contributions at the Mentoring for Achievement and Excellence celebration on March 1, 2022. Honorees included the following recipients:
Tom Angell Fellowship Awards
- Student Award: Gabe Rosales, Criminology, Law and Society
- Postdoctoral Scholar Award: Kelly Kazmierski, Psychological Science)
- Faculty Award: Brandon Golob, Assistant Professor, Criminology, Law and Society
Frances M. Leslie DECADE Excellence Award
The 2022 recipient is Long Bui, Associate Professor, Global and International Studies. The award recognizes faculty DECADE mentors whose peer and graduate student consulting advance the use of best practices to recruit and retain diverse graduate students. There are currently 45 DECADE mentors across all doctoral programs at UCI.
Carol Connor Equity Advisor Impact Award
The 2022 recipients are Nina Bandelj, Associate Vice Provost, Academic Personnel and Chancellor’s Professor, Sociology, and Aimee Endinger, Equity Advisor, Chancellor’s Fellow, and Professor, Developmental and Cell Biology. There are 20 equity advisors currently serving at UCI, working as consultants to faculty peers in best practices for diverse faculty recruitment, promotion and advancement.
Mentoring for Achievement and Excellence
The Mentoring for Achievement and Excellence awards is a campus-wide program to recognize the inclusive excellence achievements by students, faculty and staff in mentoring and leadership development.
This year’s program is scheduled 4 p.m.-6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. Additional details are forthcoming.
