On October 16, 1974, Dr. White joined other faculty at UC Irvine to create the first support center for racial ethnic minority students in the entire UC system. In the intervening years, the Cross has built upon its values of activism, social justice, community, education, empowerment and diversity to provide a home away from home, as well as a launching pad for students who see the dream of – and are working to actualize – a more just and inclusive future. Join us to celebrate its 45th anniversary with the Dr. Joseph L. White Lecture and other events honoring its neraly half a century of making a difference. |
