Sandra Campero Named Inaugural Assistant Vice Chancellor, Community Engagement and Development
Dear campus community,
I am pleased to announce that Sandra Campero will join the Office of Inclusive Excellence as the inaugural assistant vice chancellor for community engagement and development, effective immediately. In this role, she will help expand the capacity and extend the impact of UCI as a national leader and global model of inclusive excellence.
Prior to joining the Office of Inclusive Excellence, Sandra served as assistant vice chancellor for advancement operations. During her tenure in University Advancement, she provided leadership in critical areas including prospect development, data analytics, donor stewardship, special events, IT, reporting and data management. She also played a vital role in supporting the UCI Foundation Board of Trustees as the staff liaison for key committees on donor stewardship and the Latinx Thriving Initiative. In 2016, she received the UCI Excellence in Leadership Award.
Throughout her career, Sandra has contributed to her field as a thought leader by presenting and participating in a range of professional organizations. She served on the board of directors for the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement and the California Advancement Researchers Association as well as judged the Excellence Awards of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. Most recently, she was invited to become a founding member of the newly created Regional Council for CASE Latin America.
Sandra earned a bachelor’s in sociology at California State University, Long Beach. She previously held advancement positions at the University of Southern California, Loyola Marymount University and Arizona State University.
