Dear campus community,

As part of a campus and systemwide effort, several offices have worked together to create our first UCI Community Safety Survey. The Office of Inclusive Excellence (OIE) is launching this survey today and making it available to all university staff, faculty, and students at the Irvine and Orange locations.

Community safety is indispensable to our mission as a great public research university. The purpose of this survey is to understand your experiences and expectations concerning safety, to get a sense of how relevant services and programs are being used, and to hear your suggestions to improve safety for all. The survey will remain open through March 2022.

In the interest of personal security, the Community Safety Survey is anonymous. In other words, your responses will not be associated with your name or identity. The survey responses will only be analyzed and reported in an aggregated manner.

As part of a concerted engagement effort, OIE will post the results on its public dashboard and host townhalls to solicit further feedback. The report and feedback will help drive our ongoing implementation of campus safety recommendations, and townhall attendees will also hear from various UCI advocates about funding and other resources available. Please visit the Campus Safety Workgroup website for more information about our public safety efforts.

Your experience and expectations matter a great deal. They will help UCI improve community safety for all. Please make sure your voice is heard.
