Inclusiveness, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) Award About the IDEA Award The ASN/SSE/SSB Inclusiveness, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) Award was created in 2019 by the American Society of Naturalists (ASN), the Society for the Study of Evolution (SSE), and the Society of Systematic Biologists (SSB). The IDEA Award is given to a person at any career stage who has strengthened the ecology and evolutionary biology community by promoting inclusiveness and diversity in our fields. The award can also be presented to a group. The recipient will receive a plaque at the annual meeting of ASN/SSB/SSE and a $1000 honorarium. Nominations are due in January of each year….

Dear Colleagues, We are pleased to announce that Ellen Druffel, Distinguished Professor and Fred Kavli Chair in Earth System Science, has been elected to the prestigious National Academy of Sciences. She is one of 146 scientists from around the world being recognized this year for their outstanding and continuing achievements in original research. Nine UCI researches named AAAS fellows ★
Irvine, Calif., Nov. 26, 2019 — Nine University of California, Irvine researchers in areas ranging from neurodevelopment and chemical synthesis to labor economics and library sciences have been named fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the world’s largest general scientific society.
