The Institute for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, is entering its 14th year as an enduring venue for institutional transformation. The Institute brings together staff and faculty leaders from UCI, the University of California, and universities and colleges from the greater southern California region.

The theme of this year’s Institute is “Black Thriving at UCI – Accountability Begins with Understanding.”  This theme refers to our common responsibility for building solidarity, thriving and community while dismantling anti-Black racism and all “isms” to achieve inclusive excellence priorities at UCI.  Our forum provides a valuable opportunity to refine goals, strategies, and metrics in ways that will improve coordination, communication and collaboration for student, staff, and faculty success.

The Institute for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion is scheduled in two virtual meeting blocks: AM (9:30 a.m.-noon) and PM (12:45 p.m.-3:00 p.m.).  The event will feature a skills session, keynote, and information on sustaining thriving, community, and wellness at UCI.

How to Join a Zoom Meeting:

  1. Open the Zoom desktop client.
  2. Join a meeting using one of these methods:
    • Click Join a Meeting if you want to join without signing in.
    • Sign in to Zoom then click Join.
  3. Enter the meeting ID number and your display name.
    • If you’re signed in, change your name if you don’t want your default name to appear.
    • If you’re not signed in, enter a display name.
  4. Select if you would like to connect audio and/or video and click Join.
