An Important Message from President Napolitano and UC Chancellors About DACA

UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA COMMUNITY We write today to share urgent news for those in our community who are in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. On September 5, the Trump administration announced it would end the DACA program, effective March 5, 2018. We strongly disagree with this decision. It threatens the future of many of our nation’s brightest minds, including thousands who currently attend or have graduated from the University of California. We are working hard to protect those who could be affected. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services already has stopped accepting new DACA applications. However, if…

AANAPISI Newsletter – August Edition – AANAPISI Spotlight: University of California, Irvine

At the University of California, Irvine (UCI), we acknowledge the contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in advancing our mission as a public research university proudly serving the residents of Orange County and the state of California. One of our recent major milestones was the designation in February 2017 from the U.S. Department of Education as an Asian American and Pacific Islander-Serving Institution (AANAPISI), giving UCI the rare distinction of being an elite research university and a Minority Serving Institution. Being named an AANAPISI is a reflection of UCI’s purposeful vision to elevate the student experience and aligns with…
